Program: Our speaker today was Mayor Dan Drew who shared with us the city’s successes in the past eight years of his civil service as Mayor of Middletown, CT. He described his challenges and rewards of the role including the demand it has been personally and on his family. He described his greatest reward was witnessing the growth in economic development, infrastructure investment, restructured police department, rebuilt the municipal legal department and decreased unemployment and increased the bond rating of the city of Middletown all the way to a triple A.

Mayor Drew provided insight to the Board of Education’s budget’s oversight, gave some information to what transportation projects remain at large and currently being worked on.

“The challenge of public service is how the path of least resistance was never an option”

The meeting was concluded at 1:25 PM with the Four-Way Test.

Respectfully submitted,

Celeste Cremin-Endes
