Each year, the Rotary Club of Middletown is proud to honor a high school senior from each of the eight high schools in our region.  These students embody our motto "Service Above Self" and are recognized for their outstanding commitment to community.  Please click below to read about our newest honoree!

We are pleased to present our May 2021 Student of the Month:

Elizabeth (Lizzy) Celano, of Haddam-Killingworth High School, thrives on academics and service to others.  While maintaining a cumulative GPA of 4.12 earned through a number of her school’s most challenging classes, she is President of Youth In Action, a club within the local Youth and Family Services agency to raise awareness of various issues affecting teenagers, as well as a member of the school’s Mental Awareness club.  Lizzy is a peer tutor, with a particular gift for helping struggling Algebra 1 students.  Lizzy has amassed two hundred hours of community service, and is – as with all our Rotary of Middletown Students of the Month – another true example of “service above self.”  We wish Lizzy all the best in her future endeavors.
